Job description

In a new role created due to growth, our client is seeking a Controller to manage its new Atlanta HQ (Cumming/Buford) and related subsidiaries.

Responsible for managing the accounting and financial control activities for the Atlanta branch. Provide direct support and partnership to the general manager to achieve site objectives. Prepare in-depth account analysis, exception/variance reporting, trend analysis are among the accountabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain close working relationship with the general manager and all service line managers.
• Interface with other functional groups where applicable (corporate accounting, service, sales, dispatch, fleet, customer service, purchasing, safety, HR) to evaluate financial impact of current/future activities.
• Install and monitor financial controls within various reporting functions such as equipment and material control, shipping/receiving, purchasing, labor reporting, PPE and A/P processing.
• Coordinate the preparation of monthly financial statement package to be delivered to corporate accounting within established deadlines.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Review and reconcile account balances in accordance with corporate policy.
• Manage, train, and develop the local accounting team.
• Oversee billing, credit, and collections processes.
• Support general manager in the preparation of the annual budgets.
• Enforce all company accounting policies.
• Partner with the General Manager on monitoring and managing expenses.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting or a related discipline and minimum of 5 years of general accounting experience are required.
• Related education and /or training or any equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is required.
• Sage Intacct software experience is preferred.
