• Software engineering / systems engineering for satellite antenna controller
• Algorithm development and analysis for satellite tracking and antenna motion control
• Develop and maintain real-time embedded system products
• CI/CD infrastructure development; scripting, automation, data visualization & dashboarding The day-to-day
• New feature add / bug resolution for antenna control product line
• Interaction with other groups within Viasat (operations, systems integration, project engineering, field service engineering)
• Hands on testing of antennas and controls
• Data analysis What you'll need
• 3-5 years experience in embedded system development in C and C++
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or other related degree (focus on software and controls)
• Systems engineering approach - interaction of hardware, software, and mechanical systems
• Experience with linux development tools such as Make, CMake, gcc, git
• Experience with configuring and deploying embedded OS environments on bare metal systems.
• Travel 10%

• Software design experience in a range of different technologies and/or industries
• Familiarity with configuration management tools, development tools, and agile development methodologies
• Matlab or Python experience for data analysis and scripting
• Experience with custom-framework web-based front-end systems written in JavaScript/TypeScript. Salary range $141,300.00 - $208,300.00 / annually.For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $175,600.00- $245,800.00/ annually At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
