Project Engineer
Job Location: Corporate - Fairburn, GA
Position Type: Full Time

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Project Engineer leads the engineering activities related to designing and supplying custom industrial equipment projects. Engineering activities include mechanical systems design, equipment sizing and layout, and coordinating with the engineering team to complete equipment projects on time and within budget. The project engineer will inspect machines before shipment, assist with start-up/installation, and troubleshoot field issues as required.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop contract-specific machine General Arrangement and supporting BOM / Assembly / Detail drawings
• Coordinate/advise detail engineers to generate support documentation
• Resolve technical issues with suppliers during fabrication and assembly
• Inspect equipment before shipment, assist with start-up/installation, and troubleshoot field issues
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
• Ability to learn and adopt current cultural development initiatives and practice consistently.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited school
• 5 years experience in a technical role. Experience in executing CAPEX equipment projects is preferred but not required.

Competencies & Certification

• Demonstrated team leadership, ability to prioritize urgent issues/demands, strong attention to detail
• Ability to apply engineering principles and practices in day-to-day decision making
• Engineering CAD skills a must / AutoCAD 2D and Inventor 3D preferred, MS Office
• Experience with cost estimating, proposal generation, and field sales support a plus
• Strategic Thinker - Develops strategies to achieve goals and understands the team's strengths & weaknesses
• Business Travel: 5-10 % of time

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or stand for prolonged periods in an office or field setting.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
• Ability to effectively work prioritizing in a highly demanding environment.
• Flexibility to occasionally perform tasks outside of the general job description.
• May work in environments with moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, extreme cold and heat, and wet or humid conditions. The employee may occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; and risk of electrical shock; explosives and vibration
• Attends meetings or performs duties outside normal office hours (8-5).
