Job Details:

We are seeking a passionate and highly skilled Automotive Quality Engineer for our Lavonia and Hartwell, GA locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our automotive products are of high quality and meet both internal and external expectations. This includes the application of engineering principles to design, enhance and implement quality control and quality assurance methods for the production process. You will be the go-to person for employees and customers on any quality-related issues. This is a contract position with the potential for permanent hire based on performance and business needs.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement quality control methodologies to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards, guidelines, and procedures in automotive production.
2. Conduct failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to identify potential risks in the production process and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
3. Collaborate with the product development team to ensure that quality considerations are integrated into product design.
4. Develop and implement inspection methods to analyze product quality and make recommendations for improvement.
5. Coordinate with suppliers and customers to address any quality issues and ensure that corrective actions are implemented.
6. Monitor the production process to identify deviations from quality standards and take corrective actions.
7. Prepare and present technical reports summarizing quality activities and results to management.
8. Train and guide staff in quality control and quality assurance activities.
9. Participate in internal and external quality audits.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field is required.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management, preferably in the automotive industry.
3. Proven experience as a quality engineer or similar role.
4. Strong knowledge of quality control methods and statistical process control.
5. Proficient in the use of quality management software and data analysis tools.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
8. Certification as a quality engineer (CQE) or a similar certification will be an added advantage.
9. Willingness to stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in quality engineering.
10. Ability to travel as needed to meet with suppliers and customers.
