This position opening is to be located at our Hiram, GA location.

The overall duties of a Transportation Manager Include:
- Manage the operation and maintenance of assigned region of Metromont's trucking fleet.
- Manage fleet department budget.
- Oversee DOT compliance and reporting relating to trucking fleet.
- Develop and implement vehicle and equipment preventive maintenance program.
- Develop and maintain outside vendor and service provider relationships.
- Track trailer utilization, moving assets where they are best needed within Metromont to minimize rental expense.
- Track and drive optimal use of Metromont owned trucking assets.
- Identify and execute coaching sessions with drivers to manage driving behavior.
- Plan, organize, and manage hauling staff to ensure work is completed and consistent with the company's standards.
- Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaints.
- Comply with transportation-related regulations, as well as safety rules and government regulations.
- Keep organized records of vehicles, schedules and completed orders.
- Create and maintain partnerships with approved third-party carriers.
- Ensure all drivers have correct and up to date qualifications.
- Maintain and complete accurate records.
- Work with other Regional Transportation Managers or Haul Managers to share/develop Metromont best practices.
- Visit jobsites and/or drop lots as required for planning and to understand space limitations when delivering loaded trailers.
- Take part in outside organization seminars/events to stay current on trucking industry direction and available resources.
- Must adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations.
- Housekeeping as needed to maintain work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.

Education and Technology:
- Associates or Bachelor's degree or relevant experience required
- Previous transportation and DOT experience required
