Summary You will serve as an AC EQUIPMENT MECHANIC SUPERVISOR I in the Air/Hydraulics/AC & Refrigeration Systems (Shop 38F), Mechanical Division (TRF-320). Repair Department (TRF-300) of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY. Duties You will administer supervision for up to 15 subordinates. You will ensure proper preparation of accurate personnel documents for all shop personnel. You will ensure work packages are correctly written following authorized instructions. You will be responsible for the accomplishment of the entire range of shop repair maintenance, troubleshooting, etc. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a US Citizen. You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift. Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision. Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. This position requires exposure to high noise levels. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability To Lead Or Supervise such as: Serve as Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic Supervisor responsible for planning, directing, and managing the performance of repairs and overhauls of air conditioning and refrigeration systems, high/low pressure air and gas systems, hydraulic systems, equipment and components. Resolving work issues and overcoming bottlenecks, equipment breakdowns, material shortages, and other causes of delay and inefficiency.
Understand submarine air conditioning, hydraulic air, and gas equipment, installation, repair, etc. and the related technical practices. Use procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives to ensure subordinates are completing maintenance and repairs efficiently and correctly. Provide technical direction over work efforts of subordinates to ensure efficient and effective accomplishment of shop operations. Assisting with or reviewing on-the-job training.
