This is an onsite position at the P1 headquarters office located in Norcross, GA.

Purpose of the Job

The Payment Processing Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records by diligently verifying payment with carriers, general agents, intermediaries and brokers. The Payment Processing Specialist must be proactive in their communications to ensure timely and accurate payment processing, resolve discrepancies, and foster positive relationships with key stakeholders.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Initiates regular communication with carriers, general agents, intermediaries, and brokers to confirm receipt and allocation of premium finance payments
  • Verifies that payments are accurately applied to the appropriate policies and accounts
  • Investigates and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to premium finance payments promptly
  • Collaborates with internal team s and external partners to address and rectify payment-related concerns
  • Establishes and maintains strong communication channels with carriers, general agents, intermediaries, and brokers
  • Provides timely responses to inquiries, requests for information, and clarification on payment details
  • Conducts regular reconciliation of premium finance payments to identify and address any discrepancies
  • Works closely with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Maintains comprehensive and organized records of all payment-related communications and transactions
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Cultivates positive relationships with carriers, general agents, intermediaries, and brokers through clear and professional communication
  • Addresses concerns and provide exceptional service to enhance partnerships
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement in payment verification procedures
  • Collaborates with cross-functional team s to implement enhancements and stream line communication processes

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists with other tasks and projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM software
  • Must have ability to understand all business processes within the credit union
  • Must be resourceful and well organized, with strong attention to detail, and problem solving abilities
  • Good reasoning abilities and sound judgment required
  • Must be able to work in a general office environment
  • Must be flexible and able to shift resources and priorities as required
  • Must have the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Should become knowledgeable of P1 Finance's best practices, policies, and procedures while demonstrating a strong commitment to providing excellent service to all.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, and stooping required
  • Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time and use a computer
  • Must be able to moderately lift or move up to 5 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds

Education and Background

  • High School diploma required
  • Previous experience in premium finance, insurance, or financial services industry preferred
  • 2 years of experience in loan processing preferred
