Job description

SUMMARY: Management Business Solutions is seeking a Lead Estimator for its client in Savannah, GA. The person will be responsible for preparing accurate, timely cost estimates for various building materials and services. The ideal candidate will work closely with sales, project management, and procurement teams to assess project requirements, analyze costs, and develop competitive bids that support both client satisfaction and company profitability.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Review project plans, specifications, and scope to develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for building materials and services.

Collaborate with sales, project management, and procurement teams to obtain necessary information and ensure all aspects of a project are included in the estimate.

Utilize software tools to streamline the estimating process, track data, and maintain accurate records of estimates, adjustments, and final pricing.

Perform thorough analysis of project materials, labor, and other related costs, considering potential risks and opportunities for cost savings.

Develop and implement cost-saving measures for client bids and proposals, ensuring a competitive yet profitable approach.

Research industry trends, labor rates, and material prices to provide the most up-to-date and market-aligned estimates.

Lead the coordination of bid preparation with cross-functional teams, overseeing the completion of all required bid documents and pricing breakdowns.

Analyze bid results and client feedback to identify areas for improvement in the estimating process.

Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring access to competitive pricing for materials and services.

Source and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery reliability to optimize project outcomes.

Conduct post-project evaluations to analyze estimate accuracy and develop strategies to improve future bids.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for education.

10+ years of experience as an estimator in building materials, construction, or a similar industry.

Proven track record in developing detailed and accurate cost estimates, with demonstrated success in securing profitable bids.

Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong analytical and numerical skills, with a keen eye for detail.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams.

Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge of industry standards, material costs, and best practices in estimating and project management.
