Structural Mechanic III

Job Title: Structural Mechanic III
Job Type: Full-Time; Consultant
Location: Savannah, GA
Schedule: 1st Shift
Pay Rate: $28.75 per hour

Position Purpose:
Take your career to the next level as a Structural Mechanic III, where you'll work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. With minimal supervision, you'll perform advanced structural assembly operations, ensuring precision and compliance with specifications. You'll also have the opportunity to guide and mentor other team members.

Key Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in structural assembly. Experience with Solumina and Smarteam is preferred. Q-stamp preferred.

  • Skills: Expertise in blueprint reading, close tolerance work, and use of special tools. Basic computer skills and the ability to perform shop math are essential.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Advanced Assembly: Perform fitting, drilling, and riveting of detail parts and structures, ensuring all components meet exacting requirements.

  • Adaptability: Quickly transition to new tasks with minimal impact on established goals and schedules.

  • Tool Proficiency: Master the use of all necessary tools, including portable riveting guns, pneumatic drills, and more, ensuring damage-free assembly.

  • Quality Assurance: Rigorously check work to guarantee defect-free assemblies before final inspection.

  • Mentorship: Provide guidance to team members in interpreting blueprints, drawings, and engineering orders. Develop methods to resolve production difficulties.

  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive logs and records, including MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, and PCOs.

  • Problem Solving: Execute repairs per DMT, MRR, and PCO, performing necessary rework to meet conformity standards.

  • Leadership: Support Lean activities and contribute to a clean, organized workspace through the 5S & Lean Initiative Program.

Additional Requirements:

  • Physical Demands: Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in confined spaces, including climbing ladders and stairs.

  • Technical Acumen: Ability to use mathematical formulas, solve dimensional problems, and read/interact with blueprints.

  • Work Ethic: Demonstrates attention to detail, a professional attitude, and the ability to meet demanding schedules.

  • Flexibility: Must be able to work any shift.



Pay Details: $28.75 per hour
