Job Type: Full- Time Workplace Type: Onsite Clearance: Secret - Prefer TS/SCI Must be a U.S. Citizen Job Summary Castalia Systems is seeking a Computer Network Defense (CND) Expert in the Honolulu HI area. The CDN Expert plays a vital role in ensuring the security and integrity of HQ USINDOPACOM networks. Responsibilities include monitoring and managing cybersecurity tools, analyzing cyber threats, maintaining firewalls, and responding to security incidents. The role also involves compliance with cybersecurity standards, incident reporting, and documentation. Roles and Responsibilities A qualified candidate will perform the following duties and responsibilities, but are not limited to: Monitor and manage cybersecurity tools .
Analyze cyber threats and recommend solutions using CND Analyst tools such as Splunk Enterprise, Splunk Enterprise Security, Splunk UBA, Splunk SOAR, Corelight/Suricata, Firepower FMC and FTD, Mandiant ASV, Trellex/ePO.
Administer firewalls and other security systems.
Respond to security incidents following the MITRE Framework and have in depth knowledge of Adversary TTP-s.
Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards.
Provide regular reports and documentation.
Experience with Red Reports, SIGACT, Capsian Schooner, OPORD'S (Operation Order) & CTO'S (Cyber Task Order).
Experience interfacing with Red Teams (prefer prior Red Team Experience).
Knowledge and Skills Demonstrated knowledge of firewall, IDS, and IPS systems and their capabilities.
Must have experience with packet capture technology to include creating YARA and SNORT rules.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and interpret data flows.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Must be familiar with DoD Instructions 8530 and 8551.
Have experience with Cyber Incident Response in accordance with CJCSM 6510.01b
Must have experience using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio) in preparing analytical reports, information papers, and briefings for executive level recipients.
Education High School Diploma
Must have at least four years of cybersecurity experience, focusing on firewall, IDS, and IPS administration (ex: administration of NextGen Firewalls (EX: Firepower).
IAW DoD 8140.03-M, must meet the Intermediate Proficiency Level qualifications.
Must have at least one relevant CND certification: CISSP, CASP, OSCP, CySA+, CEH, or GCIH.
IAM-II Certification: CISM, CISSP or Associate, GSLC, CCISO, CAP, CASP+ CE, HCISSP.
Relevant industry certifications, such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Checkpoint CCSA/CCSE, or Palo Alto PCNSE, are preferred.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment Normal office environment.
Travel Less than 5%.

Salary at Castalia Systems is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, position knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $114,500.00 to $128,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Castalia Systems- total compensation package for employees.
