Assistant Pipefitter Superintendent Job Summary

We are seeking an Assistant Pipefitter Superintendent to be responsible for assisting in the management and supervision of pipefitting operations on various projects. This role involves coordinating with the Pipefitter Superintendent to ensure that all pipefitting work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The Assistant Pipefitter Superintendent will also help oversee the daily activities of pipefitters and related personnel, ensuring compliance with project specifications, schedules, and safety regulations.

Assistant Pipefitter Superintendent Responsibilities

  • Assist the Pipefitter Superintendent in planning, coordinating, and supervising all pipefitting activities on assigned projects.
  • Ensure that all pipefitting work is performed in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to pipefitters and other related personnel, ensuring effective teamwork and productivity.
  • Monitor project schedules and progress, making adjustments as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with other departments and trades to ensure smooth workflow and project integration.
  • Assist in the preparation of project reports, including progress, quality, and safety documentation.
  • Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the course of the project.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and personnel involved.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training sessions to promote a safe working environment.

Assistant Pipefitter Superintendent Position Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Associates degree in Industrial Trades/Applied Science is preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and sketches
  • SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW experience
  • 5 years of experience in shipyard heavy industry
  • Extensive knowledge of ship repair processes
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer
  • Experience with US Navy Ship repair/NAVSEA regulation
  • AWS certification, ABS/NAVSEA certifications is preferred
  • Knowledge of managing Federal Contracts
