Job description

Part time Dental Hygienist needed for high touch and technology general dentist practice. We currently are in need of a team member to join us on Tuesday and Friday. This role could develop into a full time position in the future.

Our office is located in the Kaheka and King Street area and we work M, Tu, W, and F. Our office observes the state and federal holiday schedule and typically have one 3 day weekend per month.

We are not your typical dental office! All of our team members are high performing and are well compensated.

Our current hygienist of seven years is pursuing another opportunity. We are sad to see her go and are looking to find someone who can seamlessly continue the high level of patient care that our patients have been used to.

Must have active Hawaii State Hygiene License or currently in the process of getting your license within the next three months.

Must be people and customer service oriented with a great and outgoing attitude. Attention to detail is a necessary trait. Excellent communication and patient education skills are required. You should be comfortable speaking to patients about their conditions in their gingiva and teeth, and any possible treatment that may be needed. We are completely digital and use Dentrix and Schick imaging as our practice management software and x-ray systems. We have a diode laser unit and Airflow unit to help remove biofilm. Experience with these systems are great but not necessary as long as we understand each practice is different and we value someone who fits personality/vision wise over experience.

We use block scheduling with flexibility in adding patients into the schedule. We allow our hygienist one hour per patient and schedule to a daily goal to ensure the office flow is comfortable from day to day. Familiarity with this type of scheduling and Dentrix practice management software is a plus.

Hourly pay is negotiable based on experience and fit and can range from $40-58 per hour. In addition to a base hourly wage, our team enjoys the possibility of performance based daily cash bonuses and monthly bonuses. Our team members on average made $7 to $13 more per hour for the entire 2023 calendar year.

Our office procedures are heavy in surgery and reconstruction procedures such as full mouth implants, bone grafting but also provides fillings, same day crowns, cosmetics, root canals, extractions, Invisalign, and single dental implants for our patients. We have Dentrix digital charting, digital x-rays, Airflow biofilm removal system, In office CBCT machine, CEREC, Medit digital intra-oral scanner, ICAM photogrammetry for full arch dental implants, zirconia milling machine, and 3D printer technology in our office.However, we are looking for team members who are motivated to learn our office systems.

Covered staff parking is provided and business/continuing education trips are provided so we may continue to grow as a team.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $42.00 - $55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 20 per week
