and much, much more! Duties and Responsibilities: Provide technical solutions and cost estimate for the installation of PACAF A3/6 SIPRNET projects; expansion of existing VoSIP network infrastructure and secure room requirements for classified network equipment.
Provide SIPRNET systems support relating to the day-to-day operations of fiber-based and copper-based infrastructure.
Support analysis of network performance (i.e. traffic load, connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes, and throughput).
Support site surveys, development of network designs, support troubleshooting, configuration control, and testing.
Train military counterparts in network management and configuration management. The System Engineer will train military personnel on the tasks performed by the contractor in order to ensure continuity of operations in the event of: a lockout situation where the contractor is prevented from entering the facility or installation; an emergency or contingency; the contractor is away on leave, or the position is open.
Support preparation and maintenance of local accreditation packages for SIPRNET and VoSIP architecture.
Provide Installation, Operation, and Maintenance (IO&M) support to the VoSIP system and end user terminals.
Assist the Government in maintaining an inventory of all VoSIP end devices
Assist the Government in ensuring BARS (Backup and Restore Services) are running on the Call Manager Publisher. This system will automatically backup all databases to a pre-defined location setup during the installation process. Recommend the backup folder be stored on either a network backup server or on CD/DVD.
Assist in the adds/moves/changes of IP Phones as needed. This would include but not be limited to, adding new devices in Call Manager using the Machine Address Code (MAC) of the end device (i.e. IP Phones). Assist in validating the software load and proper functionality of the IP Phone once installed on the network.
Assist in the conduct of end-to-end testing between devices on and off the network.
Assist in configuring switches based on adds/moves/changes of IP Phones as needed.
Assist in troubleshooting all Call Manager issues which may surface.
Implement updates and security patches (STIG) to SIPRNET infrastructure as directed by communications squadron.
Access to a Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) that shall certify the design and installation of any structure cabling. This includes any As-Planned or As-Built cabling drawings.
Participate in the Automated Information System (AIS) approved by the Air Force to collect maintenance data.
Provide Technical Solutions and Cost Estimates for SIPRNET projects requested by the communications squadron. Use Microsoft Word and send soft copy to the government project manager.
Provide As-built documentation of the network architecture upon request. Use AutoCAD/MS Visio and send soft copy to the government project manager and communications squadron's plans and programs office (SCX). The System Engineer will update the drawing as needed/requested.
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Qualifications: Active Secret clearance.
Minimum six years of network experience that includes network design, architecture, development, and remote and local monitoring and analysis of C4 automated systems.
Must possess an in-depth knowledge of remote monitoring and configuration of network equipment, TCP/IP addressing, experience with Asynchronous Transport Mode (ATM), GIG Ethernet, TACLANEs and TACLANE management, CISCO Products, HP Open view, Brocade, and Cisco Works.
Experience on VoSIP architecture (call managers, technology interface, and VTC).
Must meet requirements for DoD 8570.1-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, 19 Dec 2005, Change 4 11 Oct 2015, Security Plus certification at Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II within 6 months of assignment.
