The Base Dispatcher ensures the smooth, on-time, high-quality operation of daily station activities by providing accurate information and instructions and ensuring continuous communication between management, staff, departmental managers, customers, and drivers. Wages: Starting at $19.50/hour MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Experience: One year of customer service, dispatch, administration, or hospitality experience required; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education that would provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to meet the minimum qualifications to perform the essential functions of this position. Experience in a fast-paced work environment preferred. Knowledge, Requirements & Skills Requires knowledge of the local area's roads and landmarks. Requires verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to follow oral and written instructions. Customer service duties require relating to employees and customers in a friendly and professional manner. Requires knowledge of principles and processes for safety, ethics, and compliance with company rules & regulations. Ability to understand CDL Rules and Regulations as well as State and City & County Regulations Ability to recognize and define problem areas, collect information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Requires basic computer skills and basic knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to use good judgment and decision making while handling multiple situations. Physical demands of working on base require frequent sitting. Paid time off Employee discounts Referral program Advancement opportunities Paid training program Position Responsibilities: Determine the check-in times of drivers, dispatchers, and baggage handlers. Organize the manifests for drivers; look for any special instructions for drivers, dispatchers, and baggage handlers. Work with maintenance with downed vehicles or if you need to down a vehicle due to some type of mechanical failure. Determine if staff members arrive promptly in uniform. Refer uniform infractions to the Manager immediately. Brief drivers and field dispatchers (and baggage handlers when needed) on their schedules for the day. Pass out sundry items and paperwork to drivers. Review all special instructions to make sure they are carried out. Execute transportation services as ordered. Oversees and manages transportation services through various tracking methods to ensure timely service while avoiding any disruptions or delays in service. Call Vendors with passenger counts for lunch, admissions, etc. Adjust equipment/drivers whenever there is a mechanical problem on the road. Adjust driver's schedules to accommodate last-minute farm-ins. Notify account managers (Groups) and clients of any changes in schedules, plans, or vehicle delays or breakdowns. Contact the Reservations Department about problems with agents or clients. Example: No shows, pop-ups, vouchers, etc. Update CBS as the day goes on and "clean up" all paperwork with accurate information. Fill out the ETP Report and distribute it. The distribution list will be given by the Station Manager. Be up to date with community events and road closures. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Station Manager.
