We support customers with Centers of Excellence in Washington DC, Huntsville, AL and Burlington, MA with an additional 36 locations across the U.S. Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an Engineer, Systems III for the NSWC Carderock, acoustic Research Detachment Bayview, ID supporting the Navy Division. JOB DETAILS LOCATION: Bayview, ID JOB STATUS: FT TRAVEL: 5% REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer programming 4 years of experience in data acquisition and control system operation and maintenance Must have or be able to obtain a DoD SECRET security clearance Must have or be able to obtain certification under CompTIA+ A Plus (IS Privileged Access Management). Ability to obtain small boat operator certification for ARD Ability to obtain certification as a CAT 3 crane operator and as a rigger. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS Integration of VME, PCI, PXI and PC/104 system hardware at circuit board and back-panel levels. VME PCI, PXI and PC/104 network system support Component level troubleshooting of integrated data acquisition systems Digital signal processing for high bandwidth, real-time data acquisitions and control systems Familiarity with guidance, navigation, and ship control electronic systems Familiarity with High Gain Measurement Systems (HGMS) that acquire, process, and analyze radiated noise vehicle signatures, narrowband andone-third octave band analyzers, as well as beamforming processors, provide data reduction in real time. RESPONSIBILITIES Acoustic Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Systems - Operation & Maintenance. Development of software for real time acquisition and analysis of acoustic data from ships, submarines, and underwater tracking systems or for command and control and information management systems Determine sound velocity profile at test range. Working knowledge of Windows, Linux and HPUX operating systems and software development in C/C#/C++, Java, Unix/Unix scripts, Labview, MATLAB, Visual Basic and database programming. Instrument control via GPIB, VXI, MXI, RS232, TCP/IP. Management of system hardware and/or software development including system requirement analysis, documentation, configuration control and cost estimating. Maintenance and operation of UPS.
