Job description
Overview DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join our mission critical team in support of the United States Department of the Interior - Bureau of Reclamation. This position is onsite in Boise, Idaho. Duties & Responsibilities Ensure Database Administrator (DBA) accounts are not used for non-DBA activities. Review vulnerabilities, develop implementation plan, and install patches as they become available. Provide support to maintain, implement and enhance servers, databases and applications that includes tuning and performing backups, database tuning and backups, system patching, and other information assurance compliance. Maintain and sustain databases to 98.5% availability. Server and database performance, ensure connectivity, and comply with all security and certification and accreditation requirements in the non-Prod and production environments. Reviewing vulnerabilities, developing implementation plan, and installing patches as they become available. Loading applicable application patches; implementing and sustaining STIGs, security assessments. Performing database and application backup and recovery; performing database and application monitoring and performance tracking; and completing custom structured query language (SQL), UNIX, Linux, or other scripting and programming as required based on environment. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree and 5 years relevant work experience in maintaining database systems. Possesses strong database maintaining skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently or in a team environment. Comfortable working in an environment that includes, Drupal, PHP, and MySQL.
