Job description

We are looking for a physician currently board certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine, who has a specific interest in Utilization Management/Review Work. This position allows you the comfort of working from home. Utilizing a desktop computer provided for you.

The Physician Reviewer will use his/her clinical judgment in conjunction with healthcare plan criteria and nationally recognized medical guidelines to evaluate and adjudicate clinical services requests, engaging in peer-to-peer outreach with treating providers, as appropriate.

Using healthcare plan criteria and/or nationally recognized medical guidelines, reviewer will provide an informed, objective voice to the review of coverage decision, and provide recommendations for improving the quality of care, and help shape health plan coverage policy to be consistent with current literature and standard of practice.

This is a full time permanent position with a 2 month probation period. After probation period position becomes a salaried position with a full benefits package that includes Healthcare Insurance, Vison & Dentl Insurance, 401k retirement plan with a very generous company match, 31 days of PTO per year and more.

A set work schedule of 40 hours per week is required, this is not a flexible job.
The Schedule will vary, working 5, 8-hour shifts to start, then may transition to 4, 10-hours shifts per week. You will be scheduled in staggered shifts between the hours of 7am to 7pm MTN TIME ZONE. The position also includes a weekend rotation of at least 4 weekend shifts a month.

Requirements

Only applicants interested in FULL TIME work will be considered.
MD or DO degree, currently Board-Certified Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
Have less than 1-year lapse in current direct patient care responsibilities.
Be willing to obtain additional state licenses.
Clean background no prior licensure issues or pending malpractice cases.
Solid computer skill, with the ability to easily navigate through several computer programs/portals simultaneously.
Current, unrestricted (any state) medical license as required for clinical practice.
The ability and desire to obtain additional state licenses as required for the position.
Minimum of five years of full-time equivalent experience providing direct clinical care to patients.
Must be dedicated to the position during scheduled hours, this position does not allow flexibility for physicians to be care-takers of others during scheduled hours.
