Job description
Our Nuclear Projects and Consulting group is a Tier 1 service provider to the U.S. Department of Energy, we deliver safe and innovative solutions at complex nuclear cleanup and production sites. The Lockout Tagout (LOTO)/ Permit To Work Supervisor reports to the Construction Manager, and is responsible for organizing, executing, and coordinating LOTO activities. Specific Responsibilities: Manages the Spent Fuel Handling Project (SFHP) LOTO program. The Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Coordinator is responsible and accountable for safety lockout and tagout related activities. Assists in the development, implementation, and monitoring of site-specific lockout tagout procedures. Responsible for direct interface with construction, startup and craft personnel coordinating work permitting and tagging. Establish and maintain communications to ensure accurate and timely flow of information. Assists Construction supervision with coordinating daily subcontractor work schedules and attends daily pre-shift briefings or "Plan of the Day" meetings. Identifies and assists in resolving work issues between other project subcontractors Read and understand the subcontract(s) technical documents, including specifications, drawings and supplemental material and monitor the subcontractor for conformance to those requirements Execute the Project Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements as well as the Project Quality Assurance Plan (PQAP) Document subcontractor's daily activities including work progress, issues impacting safety, quality or schedule, manpower and required project coordination Interface with client Subcontractor Technical Representatives (STR's) Interface and support Construction Quality Inspectors (CQI's), Resident Engineers (RE's) and HSE personnel 1 to 5 years of relevant construction experience as a LOTO Coordinator, Superintendent or Field Engineer (or) Bachelor's degree in Construction or Engineering. Position requires current OSHA 10 (within last 3 years) or the ability to obtain Must be able to obtain a DOE L clearance Must be able to work night shift if needed USA citizenship is required Preferences: • Experience with Industrial construction Essential Functions: Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
