Job Summary
Behavioral Aides, also known as behavior intervention paraprofessionals or interventionists, work under the supervision of teachers to support students with behavioral challenges. We are seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students, possess strong math and literacy education skills, and excel in classroom and behavior management.
What You'll Do
- Instruction: Providing supplemental instruction to individual students or small groups
- Behavior: Monitoring student behavior and communication, redirecting inappropriate behaviors, and administering behavior intervention programs
- Social and emotional development: Helping students build social skills and foster healthy concepts
- Materials: Assisting teachers in developing and using materials to enhance learning
- Clerical: Preparing, typing, duplicating, and filing instructional materials, maintaining student records, and sending and receiving emails
- Problem-solving: Participating in the Problem-Solving Model-Response to Intervention (PSM-RtI) process to help determine intervention plans and Individualized Education Program (IEP) services
- Communication: Attending team and parent meetings and providing input on student strengths and weaknesses
- A High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required
- An individual who is at least eighteen 18 years of age; and
- Can demonstrate the knowledge, have the skills needed to support the program to which they are assigned; and
- Meet the paraprofessional requirements as defined in IDAPA 08.02.02, "Rules Governing Uniformity."
- Previous experience working with children in a school setting, daycare, or Montessori environment is a plus!
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
