Our Deer Park, IL location is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer Design and Development to join our team. Are you ready to shape the future with us? THE POSITION Sr. Electrical Engineer Design and Development, Continental Automotive Systems, Inc., Deer Park, IL: Design and development of hardware for Telematics Communication Units. Designing schematic, layout and bench level evaluation including power management, connectivity/interface, audio, microprocessor and memory system. Conduct and review worst case analysis to confirm that design meets the specifications. Write technical documentation, including Hardware-Software Interface document, Design and Verification test plans and test reports. Perform design reviews with internal teams and customers to provide technical solutions at circuit, system, or product integration level. Drive investigation and resolution of technical issues both within EE domain, as well as across engineering disciplines. Perform EMI/EMC, Transient and Thermal testing for product verification and validation. Support manufacturing facilities during launch of new products and customer facilities for diagnostic purpose. Telecommuting permitted up to 50% per week. Full time employment, Monday Friday, 40 hours per week. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, plus 2 years of related work experience. Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience in each of the following: Engaging in electrical engineering design for the automotive industry; Designing, developing, modifying and evaluating embedded back-up battery technologies, including charge and discharge profiling, used in the generation, manipulation, transmission and storage of electricity; Using design tools (including Mathcad, PSICE and Zuken), using problem solving approaches (including Ishikawa Diagrams and 5-Why analysis) and conducting worst-case analysis of designs; Analyzing oscilloscopes, cellular network simulators and data logging systems to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests and evaluate results; Selecting electrical circuit components and testing equipment based on analysis of design specifications and reliability requirements; Completing documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance of electrical circuit testing equipment; Defining and modifying telematics system requirements; Developing, testing and deploying an automotive electrical component or sub-system; and Working with manufacturing to provide technical support and bring a new design to production.
