Job description
Overview
The Clinical Director plays a pivotal leadership role, exemplifying the agency's philosophy and mission. This position oversees the daily operations of behavioral health services, ensuring full compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and internal policies. The Clinical Director is actively involved in the development, implementation, and continuous monitoring of program activities, while providing direct supervision and guidance to Program Managers on clinical and agency practices.
Additionally, the Clinical Director collaborates with administrative staff to support the growth and enhancement of programs and agency initiatives. This role also participates in the supervisory on-call backup rotation and serves as the Risk Management Chairperson.
Duties
Coaches, mentors, and trains direct report staff. Provides continuous performance management and conducts employee evaluations. Addresses performance and/or behavior issues; clarifying expectations and providing feedback.
Supports staff growth and development. Assesses the educational and experience needs of all levels of staff in collaboration with department managers. Encourages staff educational opportunities by incorporating job-related training in addition to mandatory training.
Participates in the recruitment and selection of behavioral health staff. Provides orientation to outline job requirements and expectations, policies and procedures, and proper use of tools and equipment.
Creates and maintains an inclusive work environment that respects diverse ideas, backgrounds, and styles. Supports diversity through selection, management, and retention practices.
Ensures consistent quality of care for clients by guiding best practice policy and procedures. Interpret regulations & standards to guide policy decisions, as well as accurately reflect funder and accreditation expectations.
Monitors program service delivery patterns and documentation and leads improvement by initiating changes. Screens requests for program information, service delivery, and other clinical needs and coordinates requirements and responses.
Addresses complex program issues and anticipates potential conflicts, recommending alternative solutions for potential problems. Responds to internal and external complaints and concerns.
Collaborates with Clinical Supervisors to increase individual staff and program productivity.
Takes an active leadership role in various community meetings and collaborates with other community professionals in the treatment of patients. Initiates partnerships to resolve both consumer-specific and system-wide issues with community organizations and leaders.
Performs community outreach with outside organizations and advocacy groups to educate the community, strengthen public relations, and develop referrals.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Master Degree a in Human Service, Business, Public Administration or related field - required
Appropriate license (LCSW / LCPC) - required
Supervisory experience - required
Minimum of 5 years direct work experience in human service field including a minimum of two years administrative experience - preferable in a not-for-profit setting
Ability to provide administrative and clinical leadership to the agency
Ability to interpret & implement funder requirements & standards
Good written & verbal communication skills
Ability to develop & implement policies & procedures
Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance
Must pass required background checks

Pay: $88,750.00 - $95,550.00 per year
