Job description

• Only qualified Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator candidates located near the Cary, IL area to be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence

Qualifications:

At least 2 years of experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) roles, including implementing and monitoring safety programs

Familiar with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations, and prior experience ensuring compliance

Experience performing safety inspections, maintaining safety equipment, and managing hazardous waste removal

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in implementing and monitoring company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Maintains safety equipment inventory, performs periodic safety inspections, monitors hazardous waste removal vendors, and may assist in consolidating hazardous wastes (chemical, radioactive, and/or medical).

Interacting with a variety of departments, conducts training in emergency response and hazardous material handling.

Monitors environmental compliance and maintains liaison with appropriate regulatory agencies.

Recommends corrective action where environmental health and safety hazards exist.

Interacts with others in the administration of the worker's compensation program and the implementation of workplace ergonomics and program solutions.

Monitors industrial health compliance

The role has clearly defined procedures and tasks as well as defined guidelines to aid in decision making.

The job requires a basic understanding of work routines and procedures in own discipline.

The technical procedures for this level are well defined.

The job works within well-defined procedures that may involve a variety of work routines.
