Job description

• Only qualified Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator candidates located near the Cary, IL area to be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) roles, including implementing and monitoring safety programs

  • Familiar with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations, and prior experience ensuring compliance

  • Experience performing safety inspections, maintaining safety equipment, and managing hazardous waste removal

    Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in implementing and monitoring company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.

  • Maintains safety equipment inventory, performs periodic safety inspections, monitors hazardous waste removal vendors, and may assist in consolidating hazardous wastes (chemical, radioactive, and/or medical).

  • Interacting with a variety of departments, conducts training in emergency response and hazardous material handling.

  • Monitors environmental compliance and maintains liaison with appropriate regulatory agencies.

  • Recommends corrective action where environmental health and safety hazards exist.

  • Interacts with others in the administration of the worker's compensation program and the implementation of workplace ergonomics and program solutions.

  • Monitors industrial health compliance

  • The role has clearly defined procedures and tasks as well as defined guidelines to aid in decision making.

  • The job requires a basic understanding of work routines and procedures in own discipline.

  • The technical procedures for this level are well defined.

  • The job works within well-defined procedures that may involve a variety of work routines.
