Peoples Gas, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Fleet Assistant in our Chicago, Illinois South Shop location on the 3:30-Midnight M-F shift. The hourly rate for this position starts at $27.57 with scheduled contractual increases.

Job Responsibilities

REPOST - PREVIOUS APPLICANTS NEED NOT REAPPLY.

  • Perform basic periodic maintenance on a variety of vehicles and work equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on light and medium duty vehicles
  • Complete required documentation and enter all maintenance data in a computerized Maintenance Management system
  • Coordinate downtime, repairs and return to service with appropriate leadership
  • Change and repair tires
  • Procure parts from outside vendors to facilitate timely equipment repairs
  • Pick up and deliver vehicles as directed
Minimum Experience Required

  • High School Diploma, HSED, or GED Required
  • 1 year of relevant work experience or vehicle mechanic course work towards a certification
  • Basic PC skills
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Ability to obtain CDL within 6 months
