Job description

Piper Companies is hiring a Principal Solutions Architect for a Large Data Center Organization located in Chicago, IL. The Principal Solutions Architect will support the sales team in developing and closing sales by providing cloud expertise, as well as a deep networking and infrastructure design acumen. The Principal Solutions Architect will need to sit on site in Chicago, IL 2-3 days per week.

Responsibilities of the Principal Solutions Architect:

  • Act as a technical advisor for customers and the sales team to architect creative and complex IT/cloud and networking service delivery solutions
  • Articulate solution benefits to both technical and non technical audiences
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to the sales team and other internal and external thought leaders
  • Improve probability of close, increase deal size and help to expand globally
  • Requirements of the Principal Solutions Architect:

  • Experience working in Pre-sales as a Solutions Architect is required
  • Ability, confidence and experience working with leadership, speak at conferences and write articles/blogs/vlogs
  • Experience with OEM/Hardware - any physical infrastructure (CPU, Storage, Security Components, etc.)
  • Technical and commercial knowledge of MPLS and IPVPN topologies and architecture is required
  • Experience with Routing and Switching protocols
  • Experience with public, private and hybrid cloud services and deployment
  • This role requires the candidate to sit on site 2-3 days per week, 1-2 days of travel per month for client meetings and 1-2 days per year for conferences.

    Compensation for the Principal Solutions Architect:

  • $175,000-$205,000 base, plus 40% bonus and Long term incentive plan
