ABOUT THE COMPANY:

• Our client is a leading research and training organization focused on developing, scaling, and deploying energy transition solutions looking to add and Accounting Associate to the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATE:

• The Accounting Associate will process, batch, and input vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and cash disbursement vouchers into the accounting system
• Process subcontract documents to ensure compliance with the payment terms
• Reviews, audits, codes, and posts invoices
• Processes Accounts Payable check runs and EFT runs.
• Balances EFT batches to Pre-Transfer
• Records monthly general ledger journal entries for account distributions
• Prepares monthly Accounts Payable entries and year-end accruals
• Research and resolve monthly vendor statements and invoice discrepancies
• Prepares annual 1099s (including balancing) for subsidiaries and affiliates
• Support project managers, general accounting, purchasing, and AR with AP-related matters

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED FOR THE ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATE ROLE:

• 6 months or more experience with Full cycle Accounts Payable
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work independently
