Job description
Position Overview:
As an Executive Vice president of Warehouse Operations, you hold a key leadership position responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of warehouse operations, engineering/support services and Safety, Security and Compliance within the Americas Region. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient functioning of the warehouse operations to support the broader strategy of the company with a continuous improvement mind-set.
Overall, as an Executive Vice President of Warehouse Operations, your role would be crucial in driving operational excellence, optimizing resources, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods throughout the warehousing operations to meet customer demands effectively while ensuring safety is the top priority. You will contribute to the overall Warehouse Management Strategy and be required to oversee dedicated, multi-client and cold chain business areas.
This role will also serve on the Executive Leadership Team for CJ Logistics and be responsible for delivering our customers' quality and service requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Strategy
- Leading Strategic Direction: Developing and implementing strategic plans to optimize warehouse operations, improve efficiency, and reduce costs while meeting the company's objectives and customer demands.
- Financial Acumen: Effectively manage financial resources, drive organizational performance, and create long-term value for the company. This involves a combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and effective communication skills.
- Reporting and Analysis: Generating regular reports and conducting data analysis to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and assess the financial and organizational effectiveness of warehouse operations. Using insights gained to make informed decisions, assess strategy and drive continuous improvement.
- Employee Engagement: Partners with Human Resources, department managers, and employees to foster a positive work environment, promote open communication, and create initiatives that strengthen employee engagement and retention.
- Employee Development: Support employee development initiatives aimed at targeting succession planning and workforce optimization.
Operational
- Safety and Compliance: Ensuring a safe working environment for warehouse staff by implementing and enforcing safety protocols and compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Resource Optimization: Managing the integration of human, financial, and technological resources to ensure efficient and effective warehouse operations. This includes overseeing staffing, budgeting, and implementing appropriate technologies and automation.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously analyzing warehouse processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement. Implementing changes to streamline operations, increase productivity, and enhance overall performance utilizing concepts of Lean Business Principles.
Tactical
- Customer Product: Overseeing inventory control procedures, including receiving, storage, and distribution processes.
- Quality Control: Implementing and maintaining quality control measures to ensure accuracy and integrity of inventory, as well as compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Customer Service: Collaborating with other departments to meet customer demands and provide excellent service levels. This may involve implementing systems for order tracking, fulfillment, and customer support.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Four-year degree in Supply Chain, Business or Logistics required.
- Minimum of 20 years progressive operations leadership experience in Supply Chain and logistics.
- Experience in high growth warehousing operations in the US and Mexico from $1b to $3b.
- Ability to lead a highly distributed employee population both domestic and international multi-site experience (60+) required with the ability to travel on-site.
- Proficiency in lean, inventory control and distribution management processes.
- Strong financial acumen required.
- Track record for implementing strategic growth plans while ensuring safe operational methods.
- Ability to collaborate across multiple stakeholders.
