Part-time Speech Language Pathologist Voice-Specialty Position (CCC-SLP) with Sonnenberg Voice (Lori L. Sonnenberg, Ltd.) in Downers Grove, IL.

Sonnenberg Voice is seeking a compassionate, relational, voice-qualified speech language pathologist to join our team. We are a premiere private practice in the Chicagoland area offering comprehensive care for voice, upper airway, professional voice, and singing. The position description and what we do:
This position provides a full range of speech and language pathology services for speech, voice and upper airway including assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions in a unique and highly specialized environment.
We use evidence-based treatment, multiple treatment modalities, and a patient-centered approach to guide therapy and ensure goals are functional and meaningful for the individual.
Our practice offers specialized care for the professional voice user and vocal performer with a strong emphasis on singing voice rehabilitation and muscle tension dysphonia as primary specialties.
We collaborate and work alongside all of the major voice/laryngology clinics in the greater Chicagoland area.
This is a hybrid position (in person and telepractice) with flexible hours and schedule provided employee can reach and maintain agreed upon productivity as it relates to a 15-20 hour work week schedule (ie., 15 hours of client time). Employees can complete non-billable (i.e. administrative tasks) in the office or at alternative locations of their choosing.
Position will begin with a lighter caseload (i.e.,10 sessions per week) with the expectation for growth and development in the practice over time based on the employee's specialized interests, strengths, skill set, and practice needs. We have patients ready and eager to begin working with you.

Requirements and what you need:
Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Disorders from an accredited university program.
Bachelor's degree in performing arts preferred.
Strong candidates have worked closely with voice and upper airway patients preferably in a professional clinical speech pathology practice.
Strong candidates will have a strong understanding of vocal pedagogy, vocology, singing voice, and the professional voice.
Personal vocal training, singing voice performance experience, and singing voice teaching experience is required.
Basic piano/keyboard skills are desired.
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Current IDFPR (Illinois) Speech Language Pathology License.
Clinical experience in a medical voice or laryngology setting preferred.
Strong CF candidates who have clinical experience in a voice externship placement (100 hours minimum) and experience with professional voice will be considered.
Basic competency in administering audio-perceptual analysis and protocols, laryngeal function studies, and ability to interpret videostroboscopic examinations.
A patient-centered approach to intervention and strong collaborative and interpersonal skills.
Ability to make treatment decisions and strategize about creative solutions for patients.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Resourcefulness and strong problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational skills, self-initiative, and desire for ongoing learning.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with primarily teens and adults with a variety of speech, language, voice, upper airway and singing voice diagnoses via both in person and telepractice. Pediatric cases are less common but a possibility for growth in the practice.
Comply with HIPAA laws and regulations.
Provide a safe, welcoming space for all.
Evaluation and diagnosis of speech, language, upper airway, voice, singing, and communication difficulties, development and implementation of effective treatment programs, counseling to patients, families, and caregivers about assessment and recommended treatment, providing appropriate patient education and resources, establishing patient understanding, expectations, and goals for treatment, and maintaining appropriate administrative needs and paperwork with daily SOAP notes, progress notes, treatment plans, and evaluation reports.
Collaboration with other professionals on the patient's care team (physician, OT, PT, LCP, voice teacher/coach, directors, etc.) and provide support for other medical treatment protocols that are deemed necessary by their physician.
Perform other duties as necessary and as directed by the supervisor.
Assist with other clinic and administrative tasks such as session note writing, co-treating, any necessary client communication (answering emails and questions), regular communication with administrative assistant of the practice, and other needs as determined by the supervisor.

Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation begins at $40/hr. Will be discussed during the interview process depending on experience and qualifications.
This is a part-time, W2 employee status position.

Up to five (5) paid days during each one-year measurement period. You will accrue one (1) hour of paid leave for every forty (40) actual work hours.
