Job description

Job Title - Manufacturing Engineer 4



Duration - 12 months



Location - Island Lake, IL





Master's degree will be overqualified

Candidate Responsibilities



• Designing, developing and selecting most effective and efficient tools and methods to produce quality products.



Managing the manufacturing / assembly New Product Introduction (NPI) process to ensure that engineering drawings are processed on time for NPI build.



• Launching and managing manufacturing/ assembly projects to ensure efficient and cost-effective systems and processes.



• Assisting in manufacturing capability and capacity analyses.



• Coordinating the analysis, selection, purchase and implementation of machine tools, controls and related equipment to ensure the right technology is being used to increase efficiency and economy of operations.



• Assisting in developing department capital and expense budgets.



Utilizing lean and 6 Sigma methodologies and tools, VSM analyses and others to evaluate technical issues and identify opportunities for improvement of processing, work holding, tooling, NC programs, and others.



• Evaluating facility layout and workflow to efficiently utilize manpower, equipment and space. Analyzing work balance and manufacturing group technology cells.



• Designing, developing and implementing the integration of manufacturing software and systems including factory control software, scheduling techniques, simulation and systems application.



• Assisting with process audits and certifications.



• Engaging in creative problem solving to address operational issues including: ergonomic/ safety, efficiency improvements, process bottlenecks, quality concerns.



• Working with cross-functional teams, business partners and suppliers to develop, analyze and execute manufacturing projects, solve technical issues and meet manufacturing commitments. • Providing manufacturing technical support in manufacturing processing, quality and control.



• Developing training programs and providing training to processors, machine operators and assemblers.





Typical Day



Work on the different projects that are being evaluated and/or in-process, this includes NPI projects, continuous improvement, cost reduction and other projects. Provide manufacturing engineering support to cross-functional teams and participate of manufacturing-related events. Provide guidance and support to the manufacturing shop on processing issues, requests and address manufacturing inquiries.





Education Requirements:



Bachelor s degree in manufacturing/industrial engineering or related area.





Technical Skills





Thorough knowledge of manufacturing concepts with emphasis in machining Microsoft Office suite Project Management Understanding of CAM Programming and CAD design for manufacturing Creo experience desired





Soft Skills





Good written and oral communication skills Able to build strong relationships with various stakeholders
