Description PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU APPLY. The Two Rivers YMCA is currently looking for PART TIME Custodians for NIGHT SHIFT working 20-30 hours per week. Starting pay is $15.50/hr. Experienced candidate must know how to use techniques and machines in a custodial environment to clean and disinfect our buildings after the building closes, Monday through Friday and some weekends. The candidate must adhere to strict cleaning standards set forth by the Two Rivers YMCA and must be consistent with keeping to those cleaning standards every night during their shift. Requirements Summary: The Custodian is responsible for the overall cleanliness and sanitation of assigned facilities and other duties as assigned by the Custodial Coordinator and Buildings Grounds Director. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Serve as a role model to members and Y staff and live the YMCA mission, vision and values of the YMCA movement. Understands the emergency procedures and knows the location of emergency equipment. Responsible for general cleaning duties. Establish and maintain good communication with staff, members and supervisor. Actively participate in maintaining all necessary certifications and obtaining further certifications when available for personal career development. Evaluate conditions and needs of assigned facilities as they pertain to the cleanliness and sanitation of assigned buildings while implementing and carry our project cleaning. Provide updates to Custodial Coordinator to maintain adequate supply of inventory to complete custodial tasks for assigned branches. Participate in working for special event and after hours building rental clean up. Follow up on complaints and concerns from staff as well as ensure all positions are covered during any absence. Inspect equipment as directed to make sure it is being used and maintained properly in attention to inspecting custodial work areas and addresses any concerns or complaints. Provide general custodial care for the entire area of assigned facilities, including restroom and locker room cleaning, carpet and floor care, office cleaning, and cleaning of program areas. Participate in YMCA financial development efforts. Maintain certifications listed under Certificates and Other Requirements. Adherence to all policies and procedures of Two Rivers YMCA. Regular and timely adherence to respective schedule/meetings. Effect and End Results: All members and participants will be greeted and feel welcome and included. The overall quality of the YMCA and its programs and services will be viewed as excellent by members and guests, leading to higher satisfaction and participation rates. The effectiveness of a successful Custodial will be demonstrated by clean, safe, and inviting environments for members, program participants, guests and staff of the assigned branches. Success will also be established by maintaining a well supervised, productive and efficient custodial staff. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no direct employee supervision, however it may be asked to lead a small shift of employees as necessary. Qualification Requirements: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience: A high School diploma or equivalent is required and 3-5 years of cleaning experience is preferred. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, curriculum, policy/procedure manuals, and financial documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from members and non-members of the YMCA. Ability to communicate effectively to children, parents, members and non-members, and other staff. Mathematical Skills: Must have basic mathematical skills. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Complete background check, child abuse prevention training, CPR/AED certification for infant, child and adult, and blood borne pathogens.
