Job description

The HR & Safety Manager will oversee all safety aspects at the clients facility near Naperville. They will assist with developing safety procedures including re-working the manual, champion the safety team made up of other department heads, and work on the floor with operators, engineers, department heads to make sure safety procedures are being followed.

Description

  • Plan, implement, control, and optimize operational processes in health, safety, and environment.
  • Maintain OSHA Injury & Illness record keeping of 300, 300A, and 301 forms and submit on-time.
  • Coordinate and cooperate with regulatory bodies
  • Advise management on HSE issues as well as the responsible managers and employees in the areas of environmental protection, health protection and occupational safety.
  • Assist with training and instruction in HSE areas.
  • Develop and maintain proper KPIs such as TCR (total case rate) and report monthly.
  • Organize certifications, manage external audits and implement internal audits.
  • Maintain and improve our management system and manuals to be OSHA compliant.
  • Carry out risk assessments and suggestions for improvement as well as initiating and monitoring system corrective measures.
  • Control and monitor compliance with environmental and safety laws and regulations and provide technical support to ensure HSE requirements are met.

Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant area of study strongly preferred
  • 3+ years of HSE experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including experience writing safety instructions
  • Ability to travel a few times per year
  • Strong interpersonal skills and desire to be hands-on
  • Bilingual Strongly Preferred

Job Offer

  • Base salary around $95,000
