About This Role

The Data Scientist will help Ace Hardware deliver on its customer marketing strategy by unleashing the power of consumer data used in advanced analytics methods. This role is critical to the organization with a primary focus on using advanced machine learning methods to propel the Ace Rewards segmentation and targeting strategy forward. This position is responsible for providing predictive and prescriptive analytics to drive 1-1 personalization of the Rewards program and communication strategy.

What You'll Do

• Responsible for utilizing essential machine learning concepts to develop/modify models for predictive and descriptive purposes
• Collaborate with business stakeholders in developing efficient data pipelines using SQL and Python to deliver analysis and create datasets for ML training and deployment
• Explore areas of innovation and bring forward changes that can result in net efficiencies
• Manage your own workload, keep projects tasks on time and keep Data Science lead and business stakeholders up to date on project statuses
• Works on projects that are moderately complex to high concept and non-routine but can also jump in to support peers and help move along production jobs
• Keep informed on latest ML and AI applications and share insights with team on a routine basis

Required Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or another field with a quantitative component
• Minimum of 2 years of experience using predictive analytics to help guide strategic decision-making in a business context, preferably with CRM-driven industries such as retail, entertainment, hospitality, etc.
• A solid understanding and hands-on experience applying essential machine learning concepts to provide effective business solutions and drive insights.
• Experience with predictive tree-based modeling techniques such as Decision Trees, Random Forest, LightGBM, XgBoost. Incremental modeling & forecasting experience is a bonus.
• Experienced in developing and deploying end-to-end ML based solutions using Python/R
• Experienced in using SQL for daily ETL tasks and building sound data pipelines.
• Experience or familiarity with technologies such as Databricks, Apache Airflow, H2Oai, Azure AutoML.
• Proven track record of being able to seamlessly go from raw data through complex modelling techniques to a final output that is insightful, valuable, tightly packaged and easily digestible required.
• Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and prioritize appropriately, working within tight deadlines.

Compensation Details:

$86700 - $108000 Per Year
