Associate Attorney

My client is a well-established litigation firm located in the Chicago Loop. Their practice primarily focuses on civil defense and insurance litigation, including construction claims, professional liability, property and casualty matters, serious personal injury, and wrongful death. We are committed to providing exceptional legal representation and fostering a collaborative work environment.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Independently handle substantive legal matters including writing coverage opinions, taking and defending depositions, drafting and arguing dispositive motions, and preparing for trial.
  • Manage a caseload efficiently and effectively while meeting billable hour requirements.
  • Contribute to case strategy and participate in all phases of litigation.

Requirements:


  • 3-7 years of experience in civil litigation with a strong background in defense and insurance matters.
  • Proven ability to handle complex legal issues independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and exhibit strong organizational skills.
  • Portable business is a plus but not required or expected.

Compensation & Benefits:


  • Salary commensurate with experience and areas of practice expertise.
  • Discretionary bonus for meeting billable hour requirements (1900 hours annually).

  • Hybrid work environment with the option to work from home 2-3 days a week, following an initial 90-day in-office training period.
