Job description

Will follow Rule 50, Dept. of Human Services Rule 115, Rule 116, Rule 119, Rule 120, and other relevant regulatory guidelines. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Support the philosophy through the agency's mission, vision, and values. Manage all responsibilities based on the agency mission, using individual choice and all appropriate policies, procedures, and regulations. Assist consumers as needed getting on and off the bus. Assure that ambulatory consumers are seated and secured with seat belts during travel. Assure that consumers in wheelchairs are properly secured. Attend to consumers in cases of illness, accident, seizure, etc. Provide information regarding individual transportation needs and behavior issues to the supervisor. Document consumer attendance on consumer manifest form. Report any special injuries, incidents, or needs to the appropriate program staff upon arrival at day program or residential site, and then to supervisor. Maintain vehicle mileage log sheet Conduct daily pre-inspections and post-inspections of the vehicle. Complete inspection checklist and give to supervisor daily. Attend required training Attend in-service training and meetings as requested. As a mandated reporter ensure all allegations of abuse and neglect are reported as required. Education/Experience Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Valid Illinois driver's license and acceptable driving record. Must be 18 years old. Complete and maintain CPR/First aid certification Ability to interact with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Work Environment This position will be exposed to outdoor conditions in all seasons. Many of the duties will be performed while in an automobile, ranging from a standard auto to a small bus. Some job duties may be performed in an office, classroom, or warehouse setting.
