Job Summary:Conducts or participates in special procedures while working directly with the radiologist to obtain specific results to be used by physicians for diagnostic purposes and interventional treatment. Stand-by call also required. Essential Duties:-Performs special procedures in a manner that ensures an accurate and complete examination within the guidelines, policies, procedures and standards of Medical Imaging to assigned patients of all ages. -Performs sure guidance and needle guidance using CT and/or Fluoroscopy under the direct supervision of the Radiologist.-Exhibits competency in performing and filming angiographic and CT radiographic procedures.-Deviates from routines when the patient's condition requires it or at the request of the radiologist.-Knowledgeable of catheters, guidewires, and sterile trays and prepares these items as necessary.-Obtains and documents accurate pre and post procedure information as applicable.-Follow JCAHO patient safety goals.-Maintains quality care throughout the procedure.-Practices radiation protection through shielding whenever possible.-Demonstrates a practical problem solving approach to patient moving and handling issues.-Demonstrates skills to promote patient and staff safety through appropriate use of lift equipment.-Performs patient bedside lab testing and associated quality control in compliance with medical provider's orders and hospital lab procedures and policies
