The Human Resources Intern is a collaborative team player who provides enthusiastic administrative support to the entire Human Resources function. Working closely with various members of the Human Resources team, the intern ensures consistent adherence to HR processes. The Human Resources intern actively engages with all members of the Human Resources team and business stakeholders, fostering effective relationships to strengthen competencies for career advancement and effective business communication.
Onboarding
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to execute onboarding activities for new hires to ensure a consistent experience
Assists Human Resources team with collecting, organizing and filing necessary new hire paperwork
Responsible for accurately reviewing and verifying employment eligibility documents provided by new hires to ensure compliance with Form I-9 requirements
HR Support
Conduct regular audits of HR systems to ensure data accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements
Identify and resolve discrepancies or errors in HR systems data, working closely with the HR team to implement necessary corrections
Provide administrative support to the recruitment team throughout the various stages of the recruitment process
Supports Human Resources team in organizing various events for summer internship program
Manage the intern intranet page throughout the duration of internships, including communicating upcoming events or important announcements to interns
Assists Human Resources team with other various projects as needed
Peer Relationships and Self-Development
Encourage interns to share ideas and insights, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development amongst the group
Serve as a resource for other interns, answering questions and providing guidance
Participates in team meetings and Human Resources webinars for skill and knowledge development
Seek opportunities to learn from experienced team members, leveraging their knowledge and expertise to enhance your own understanding of Human Resources concepts and practices
Strives for successful working relationships with the Human Resources team and other agency departments
Completes workflow training with manager and/or mentor
Meets and provides feedback to manager and/or mentor on a frequent basis
Establishes connections and effective working relationships with MMA colleagues, fellow interns within the internship program, and interns within other MMA regions
Works toward achieving individual and team goals
Develops and delivers group presentation on assigned topic with other interns
Required
1+ years of undergraduate completed
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
Pursuing BS/BA in Human Resources or related field
Intermediate or advanced skill level with Microsoft Word, Excel
Strong attention to detail
