Scott AFB, O'Fallon, IL/Hybrid (2 days a week) Responsibilities: The Geospatial Information Specialist applies ingenuity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in the standup of geospatial environments and the analyzing of data. Other responsibilities include the following: Develop and maintain GIS web-based mapping platforms
Manage Portal/ArcGIS online accounts and user profiles
Create and publish custom maps and web applications using Portal/ArcGIS Online
Set up and maintain environments, create layers, assist with requirements documentation
Installation of new software, and configuration of hardware and software
Security administration with GIS portal, administration of existing databases and the analysis, design, and creation of new databases.
May review GIS data for currency and accuracy; document the parameters and context of GIS data; perform geospatial modeling or spatial analysis and create geospatial mapping capabilities Requirements: Active Secret clearance
Current Security+ certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
Minimum of 3 years of experience working with users to gather geospatial requirements
Experience with ArcGIS Portal and ArcGIS Online is a MUST
Experience with ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE services, ArcGIS Online installation/configuration of ArcSDE services
Knowledge of GIS theory and practices, principles and practices of enterprise information technology systems and structures, geographic concepts of location, scale, resolution, and generalization, administer system access and security to the enterprise GIS and related applications
Skills/experience with consuming and displaying data in ArcMap from rest endpoints
Ability to work well within a team environment Preferred Skills/Experience: Skilled in designing and implementing large (enterprise) geospatial systems
Knowledge of SQL and other internet programming languages (I.e. HTML5, XML, JavaScript, CSS, Python, etc.) as it relates to GIS applications
Knowledge in scripting and programming for data management purposes for process development (Python, ArcObjects, etc). Ability to create, test, deploy and validate software packages as needed
Ability to identify spatial relationships and display the results of analyses
Experience working with users to gather geospatial requirements Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
