Overview DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Junior Developer to join our US Transportation Command - Global Freight Management team. The Junior Developer will support the design, development, and maintenance of software applications while learning and growing within a dynamic team. This position involves participating in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), with a focus on coding, testing, and troubleshooting applications. Under the guidance of senior developers, the Junior Developer will contribute to creating scalable, maintainable software while gaining hands-on experience in Java and related technologies. Duties & Responsibilities Assist in the design and development of software applications, adhering to best practices and performance standards. Contribute to the SDLC, including coding, testing, debugging, and maintaining software systems. Apply object-oriented programming principles to develop scalable software solutions. Support the deployment and management of Java applications, ensuring performance and availability. Assist in configuring and monitoring application servers to enhance reliability and minimize downtime. Contribute to the design and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines under the guidance of senior developers. Troubleshoot and resolve application issues with support from senior developers. Document application features and processes for future reference. Work within a team to deliver high-quality software in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Contribute to technical documentation and provide ongoing support for deployed applications. Work independently and within teams to deliver high-quality software in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications Active Secret Clearance. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role. Must hold an active an IAT Level II certification; CompTIA Security+ CE highly preferred. BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, other related disciplines, or technical training Basic proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming principles. Willingness to learn and collaborate in a team environment. Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira) and documentation tools (e.g., Confluence). Strong communication skills and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
