Location: Springfield, Va or St Louis, Mo What will you be doing? The Unified Communications Engineer will design and define system architecture for both new and existing unified communications systems. This role involves overseeing the entire system lifecycle, including design, modeling, security, integration, and testing. You will contribute to complex engineering projects, manage the deployment of collaboration tools, and ensure the efficient performance of communication systems. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and define architecture for unified communications systems, including both new implementations and upgrades to existing systems.
Manage projects related to the deployment of new collaboration tools and telephony infrastructure. Oversee approximately 18,500 customer phones and ensure system reliability and performance.
Provide Tier 2 and 3 technical support for voice operations and collaboration tools. Assess severity, prioritize tasks, and resolve support issues effectively.
Oversee and manage systems including Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unity Connection, Cisco IM&Presence, Cisco Agent Desktop for Cisco Unified Contact Center, Cisco Meeting Server (CMS), Cisco TelePresence Management Suite (TMS), Cisco Jabber, and VoIP endpoint deployment.
Address security, backup, and redundancy problems with complex solutions. Perform systems modeling, simulation, and analysis to support system improvements.
Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for processes, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Develop and execute detailed SOPs for Unified Communications Engineering.
Conduct integration proof of concept testing as required to ensure system compatibility and performance.
Provide weekly status reports to managers and stakeholders, keeping them informed of project progress and any issues.
Collaborate with customer management and GDIT management to implement system changes. Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively coordinate with various teams. QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, and work/military experience.
5+ years of related systems engineering experience in Unified Communications.
Strong understanding of Unified Communications design and functions, with expert-level proficiency in system administration. Experience with collaboration tools such as Cisco Jabber and Microsoft Teams, and telephony systems like Cisco Call Manager 12.5 or higher.
Expert-level proficiency in MS Excel and other data manipulation tools for sorting, analyzing, and correlating data from multiple sources.
Ability to develop and execute detailed SOPs and documentation for Unified Communications Engineering.
Experience in conducting integration proof of concept testing and managing projects related to communication tools.
Strong expertise in WAN network facilities and protocols.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with a demonstrated attention to detail and a logical approach to manipulating large data sets.Clearance Requirements Active TS/SCI clearance required and eligibility to obtain a CI polyWant to learn more about Government Services?
