Department Information

Fleet Services' mission is to provide safe, reliable, cost-effective, sustainable transportation for university departments and partners. Our department is responsible for purchase, lease, maintenance, fueling, and disposal of university vehicles and equipment. We also manage a motor pool for university business travel use by university faculty, staff, and students. Fleet Services manages vendor relationships with local rental agencies for passenger vehicles, equipment, and large trucks. Fleet Services oversees two van services for student transportation needs: Accessible Educational Van Services and IU Ride. Our department is a small team with impact on all campuses.

Job Summary

  • Picks up and drops off students and staff who have been pre-qualified for van service access using minivans and wheelchair accessible vans.
  • Rides schedules are dispatched to drivers via TransLoc On Demand software with pickup and drop off times and locations.
  • Additional duties may include cleaning vehicles, providing shuttle services to staff, or transporting other vehicle types to various locations will be assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES

Required
  • Possess a valid driver's license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University
SKILLS

  • Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information
  • Proficient communication skills
