Job Summary

The Program Specialists role works closely with the Program Coordinator to develop, plan, and implement late night programmatic experiences within the regular business hours of the Hoosier Den.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Develops, plans, and implements large scale late night monthly programming as well as weekly themed programming.
  • Follows the program proposal process by utilizing Roompact software
  • Evaluates program trends and present future program needs based on assessment
  • Identifies potential external organizations to coordinate educational opportunities and enhance student learning outcomes
  • Works in collaboration with Building Coordinator to ensure external programmatic efforts are managed seamlessly by assisting outside organizations to setup the layout of event as well as the technological needs. These events may fall outside of the regular business hours of the Hoosier Den.
  • Attends meetings with Hoosier Den staff: one-on-one with Graduate Supervisor (weekly); attend bi-weekly team meetings
  • Follows protocols for corrective action / misconduct if witnessing misbehavior in Den employees or patrons

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required
  • Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University Bloomington.
WORK EXPERIENCE

Preferred
  • Program development and event management experience
SKILLS

Required
  • Ability to work in a collaborate team environment.

Working Conditions / Demands

The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The position involves being able to move furniture up to 50 pounds in order configure a requested setup. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

This is an in-person position.

Advertised Salary

$12.00 per hour

Work Hours

8:00 p.m. - 12 a.m., 7 days a week.

Position is capped at 29 hours per week.
