FACILITY OPERATIONS-IUB (BL-PHYP-IUBLA)

Department Information

Facility Operations works to operate and maintain a high-quality physical environment on the Bloomington campus to enhance student learning, faculty teaching, and research.

Our areas of responsibility include: building repairs, maintenance, operations and systems, moving and setups, grounds and landscaping, and, custodial services.

Job Summary

The project assistant will provide assistance to the directors of Building Maintenance, Landscape Service, and Building Services.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Performs data entry of physical assets into asset management software.
  • Collects data points from shop supervisors and enters data into preventative maintenance templates.
  • Assists in the development of the annual repair and replacement schedule.
  • Assists in the development of annual event SOP's for Facility Operations to include but not limited to: Little 500 setup and tear down, Memorial Stadium football preparatory work, and Memorial Stadium winterization.
  • Assists in updating building sign condition assessment.
  • Develops schedule for power washing building exteriors.
  • Other projects as they arise.

Required
  • Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University
WORK EXPERIENCE

Required
  • Project management experience
SKILLS

Required
  • Technical skills requisite with modern office work environments
  • Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information with a wide range of diverse individuals
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a customer service orientation
  • Strong organizational and load-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities

Working Conditions / Demands

The person in this role must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Additional Information

16-20 hours per week

Commitment to work at least two full semesters

Schedules are set on a semester basis

Our office is open 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM Monday to Friday and closed on official University Holidays.
