Job description

Overview of the Assistant Controller Role: As an Assistant Controller with our organization, you will play a pivotal role in supporting financial reporting, analysis, and compliance activities. Working closely with the Controller, you will help oversee accounting operations, manage financial processes, and ensure accuracy and integrity in financial reporting. This position presents an exciting opportunity to utilize your accounting expertise in a challenging and rewarding environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Oversee month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process by gathering and analyzing financial data and preparing budget reports.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements, including US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
  • Assist with the implementation of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum three years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, with previous experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulations, including US GAAP.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex formulas.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends and insights.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
