Are you a passionate and skilled Veterinary Technician looking to elevate your career in a cutting-edge surgical environment? We have an incredible opportunity for a Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic Surgery/Anesthesia team at VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center!
Position: Veterinary Technician: Surgery
Schedule: Full-time opportunity with flexible scheduling. We utilize a 4 x 10 hour shift schedule.
Compensation: Starting range is determined by skill set and years of experience in the field. Financial growth opportunities available.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Veterinary Surgical Technician, you will play a pivotal role in our surgical department. Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting in Surgical Procedures: Be at the forefront of surgical excellence by assisting our skilled surgeons during a variety of surgical procedures (Advanced Soft Tissue and Orthopedic Procedures).
Anesthesia Monitoring: Utilize your expertise in anesthesia monitoring to ensure the well-being of patients throughout surgical procedures, collaborating closely with the anesthesia team.
Patient Care: Provide top-notch post-operative care, monitoring patients in the recovery phase and administering medications as directed by veterinarians.
Collaboration: Work closely with the surgical team, veterinary specialists, and support staff to ensure seamless communication and collaboration in the surgical department.
Instrument Sterilization and Maintenance: Ensure that all surgical instruments are properly sterilized and maintained to the highest standards, contributing to a safe and sterile surgical environment.
Qualifications:
Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT, CVT, LVT) or eligible to sit for the VTNE within 6 months.
Skilled in anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery, with a strong understanding of anesthesia risks and protocols.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a surgical team, communicate clearly with veterinarians, and assist other staff as needed.
