Job description

ONE is currently seeking an advanced practitioner to work in collaboration with our orthopedic trauma team in the hospital; as well as an extension of our other orthopedic subspecialties in the hospital including Spine, Foot/Ankle, Hand, Joint, and Sport. This provider's role is to improve the quality of patient care, patient service and total patient satisfaction through prompt clinical assessment of patients' needs and delivery of excellent health care services, working closely with and under the supervision of physicians and in compliance with all state and federal regulations.

Job Type: Full-Time Salaried Position

Job Duties:
Examination of trauma patients presented at Parkview Hospitals (PRMC and Randallia), review past medical history, perform detailed history and physical examination, order/interpret laboratory data and radiographic imaging, diagnose patients, recommend appropriate treatment plan, medication review and prescribe medications as appropriate, make appropriate consultations as needed. Patient education
Casting, splinting, DME application.
Perform minor surgical procedures including: anesthetic blocks, laceration repairs, closed reductions, nail trephanation/removal, nailbed repair, irrigation and debridement of finger and toe amputations, bone shortening. Wound care. Multifocal joint injection/aspiration.
Evaluate and treat all demographic groups: infant, children, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
Review patient's charts with the trauma surgeons at the end of each shift.
Closely communicating with all our orthopedic subspecialty teams to take care of ONE patients in the hospital.

Other Functions:
Possesses knowledge of medical OSHA safety precautions and strive to abide by and maintain the safety of self and others.
Recommends and implements specialty protocols and departmental policies and procedures.
Provides guidance to other staff members and functions as a team member of Ortho Northeast.
Performs other duties as required.

Knowledge Required/Desired:
Graduation from a Physician Assistant program accredited by the CAHEA; or Graduation from a Nurse Practitioner program accredited by a Nursing School.
Experienced advanced practitioners or new graduates are welcome to apply
CPR/AED certification required.
ACLS certification desired.
Maintain BLS certification.

LICENSURE:
Licensure as a Physician Assistant or Licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.

Schedule:
Five 8 hour shifts M-F or Four 10 hour shifts M-TH - willing to discuss options
Will work statutory holidays (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas Day) with the other APs per holiday call rotation
