Eli Lilly is seeking a dynamic Capital Procurement professional to lead procurement efforts for assigned capital projects and provide category management support. This role is integral to our Global Manufacturing Procurement Capital & Infrastructure team, ensuring the sourcing of suppliers for automation, construction, engineering, and engineered equipment aligns with our strategic goals.
Do you have a proven track record in sourcing with preference on engineering and construction services, capital equipment and commissioning or qualification? In this role you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services in a way that contributes to the internal client organizations and ensures Lilly remains competitive in the global pharmaceutical industry. In performing this role, the individual will apply the Lilly Strategic Sourcing Process to provide the customer the greatest value within the allowed timeframe. The ideal candidate will have confirmed experience in manufacturing sourcing, with preference on capital projects. This includes experience managing internal relationships to facilitate project delivery as well as supplier relationships as well as support and implement cost effective sourcing strategies that reduce supply risk.
Key Responsibilities:- Category Management: Develop, implement, and manage Lilly's global strategy for acquiring engineering and construction services, automation, and capital equipment.
- Project Leadership: Lead the review of project requirements, develop sourcing strategies, handle supplier due diligence, coordinate the RFP process, negotiate contracts, and manage contract execution.
- Supplier Qualification: Collaborate with business clients to qualify suppliers, contribute in supplier relationship management meetings, conduct spend analysis, gather market intelligence, and mitigate risks.
- Major Capital Projects: Source goods and services for major capital projects (>$5MM) at Lilly's global manufacturing sites, managing an annual spend of $200 - $750MM.
- Procurement Management: Lead procurement activities for assigned projects, ensuring competitive bidding and selecting the most technically and commercially viable sources.
- Cost and Risk Management: Identify and implement cost/risk reduction and avoidance strategies, achieving savings of $8M or more annually.
- Supplier Management: Facilitate relationships between internal customers and suppliers, ensuring effective supplier management.
- ISM qualification and/or relevant Procurement experience
- Good IT literacy with the Microsoft Office suite & SAP/Ariba
- Sourcing experience, preferably in area of capital procurement.
- Pharmaceutical process or plant experience preferred
- Strong communication skills - written, verbal, collaboration, and interpersonal; Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Ability to influence and negotiate effectively both internally and externally.
- Demonstrated business insight with good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a complex, multi-organizational environment while maintaining prioritization and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Bachelor Degree or higher in Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Business or related field or Bachelor Degree in any subject area with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

- Ability to travel 2 - 3 weeks per year (both internationally and domestically) as needed to support sourcing initiatives and supplier relationship management activities
