Compensation DOE: Up to $32/hr.


Career Transitions is assisting an Indianapolis, IN client seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Technician to join their Engineering team on a contract basis.


The Electrical Technician will be responsible for supporting the design, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of electrical components and systems used in our innovative product lines. This is a hands-on role ideal for a technician with a background in manufacturing environments, who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.


What you are doing as an Electrical Technician:



  • Assemble, test, and troubleshoot electrical systems and components, including circuits, wiring, and boards, to support new product development and modifications.

  • Assist in the prototyping and fabrication of electrical equipment and systems, working from blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

  • Conduct diagnostic tests and measurements, ensuring components and systems meet established specifications.

  • Record and document test results accurately, providing feedback on performance, reliability, and functionality.

  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to identify and resolve design or performance issues in electrical systems.

  • Maintain and calibrate testing equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and safety.

  • Comply with company safety protocols and industry standards throughout all stages of assembly and testing.

  • Support R&D initiatives by providing insights from hands-on experience to improve designs and processes.


What you need as an Electrical Technician:



  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.

  • M inimum of 2 years of experience as an Electrical Technician in a manufacturing environment, preferably within product development or industrial applications.

  • Proficiency with electrical testing equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.).

  • Strong ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.

  • Experience with basic programming or configuration of PLCs and microcontrollers is an advantage.
