Position Brand Description:
This engineering position is one in the Engineering Tech Center focused on technical and discipline stewardship. This role will provide discipline leadership in Electrical Engineering (including oversight of the community, technology development, knowledge sharing, mentoring of junior talent, etc.), provide technical consultation to sites (including CMOs/Alliances), support major capital, and network with the external community at large.
Key Objectives/Deliverables
- Major Capital Support - Provide technical consulting, both conceptual and detailed design, to Global Facilities Delivery on major capital project and participate in the Global Facility Delivery PDRI processes as required.
- Technical and Discipline Leadership - Electrical engineering consultant in power EE aspects; partner with other senior technical staff to direct electrical discipline activities including oversight of the community, new technology development and technology assessments, creation and maintenance of Engineering Standards, Master Specifications and Best Practices for the discipline, and coaching and mentorship of junior engineering staff globally.
- Electrical Safety Leadership - Be a subject matter expert on the topic of Electrical safety. Also, be member of the overall Electrical safety program for Lilly. Drive changes to electrical safety policy with corporate HSE and initiatives directed at improving site compliance with corporate electrical safety requirements. Assist in investigation of any electrical incidents within the company. Consultation - assist sites globally (including CMOs/Alliances) with technical evaluation, master planning, technology assessments, and specific problem resolution including troubleshooting and root cause analysis. Create and maintain computer based electrical distribution models and associated coordination, fault, and arc flash hazard studies for sites globally.
- External Influence - Monitor and, when appropriate, influence changes in external codes and standards on Lilly's behalf, and work to ensure ongoing compliance within Lilly
- Knowledge sharing - Provide ongoing technical support to site plant engineering groups, domestic and global (including CMOs/Alliances); provide technical mentoring to Lilly engineers; participate in the creation and maintenance of Engineering Standards, Master Specifications, and Best Practices
- Productivity improvement - routinely identify and implement systemic improvements focused on improving cost effectiveness and stewardship of Lilly assets in plants/processes globally
Basic Requirements:
- BS in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in power generation and distribution
Additional Preferences:
- PE certification
Successful candidate will frequently work independently and, as such, must be a self-starter and capable of working with little direction.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Additional Information:
- Domestic (including Puerto Rico) and some international travel is required. Travel is estimated to be about 10-15% of time. This is an onsite position that requires onsite presence the majority of the time. This is not a fully remote position.
