About Riley Maternity Tower Labor & Delivery RMT labor and delivery is a level IV perinatal center providing high level, quality care to all spectrums of the obstetrical patient. RMT labor and delivery is comprised of 27 inpatient beds, 10 bed OB Emergency department, 4 OR 's including a fetal surgery suite, HR transport, and 6 bed PACU. While the focus for our patient's care is obstetric, we take a holistic approach to care of the patients, maternal and fetal, to include complex medical, emotional, and social needs. MUST HAVE at least 1 year of RN experience; experience in OB nursing a plus! BSN preferred. Nursing skills gained on this unit: Critical assessment skills Fetal monitoring and assessment Training for US PIV placement, Belmont rapid infuser, OBERT rapid assessment team, and simulation training Bereavement support for mothers and families Unit Successes/Designations: Many RNs with professional certifications DAISY Award winners in 2023 Multiple DAISY Award nominees in 2023 Met or exceeded all 3 harm goals in 2023 Multiple Capstone Preceptors for nursing students Unit Culture Highlights: Fosters an environment for learning based on evidenced based care Team is key. Our strengths are working together, adaptability, and compassion in a fast-paced environment Mentorship program supports continued learning Clinical Advisor provides education on-unit in real time Qualifications Requires Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred. Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse. Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
