Department Information

We are seeking a Research Compliance Assistant to help continue our distinguished tradition of excellence in patient care, innovation, and education in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Job Summary

  • Maintains a complex database; ensures data is accurate, complete and up-to-date; coordinates the continuing review of active research protocols, enters new data, and revises records as needed.
  • Maintains paper files that correspond to database records, as needed; ensures files are accurate, complete, up-to-date and match the database; ensures proper storage/handling and purges these files as allowed by federal regulation; creates and maintains paper files, and manages and formats electronic files for confidential research studies subject to federal regulatory audit, in accordance with applicable policies and regulations.
  • Performs various administrative duties related to research submissions (for example, reviews to determine the proposal category, triages to appropriate staff, and logs accurately into database).
  • Performs administrative duties related to research study approvals (for example, calculates expiration dates and generates final reports as well as protected documents to distribute to researchers/investigators).
  • Responds to standard inquiries from outside the department, originating from any campus or affiliate; answers questions regarding research compliance policies and procedures and/or refers to appropriate staff; identifies and alerts management to critical issues as appropriate.
  • Performs other administrative duties in support of research compliance efforts as needed.

EDUCATION

Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Advertised Salary

$38,500 - $43,500 per year based on experience and internal equity.
