PED-WELLS CTR FOR PED RES (IN-WCPR-IUINA)

Department Information

The Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Research conducts basic science and translational research within the Department of Pediatrics at Indiana University School of Medicine. The Wells Center houses more than 200 faculty investigators, staff, and trainees seeking answers to the most pressing questions related to childhood illness.

With the collaboration between scientists and physicians, the center aims to increase knowledge of causes and mechanisms of serious pediatric diseases. Our goal is to develop innovative approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of sick children in Indiana and beyond.

Job Summary

Special Events

  • Composes and sends emails on behalf of Program Manager for communication for all events.
  • Helps with all planning and preparation of special events including registration, ordering, budgeting, and creation of lists and name tags.
  • Helps during the actual event (if schedule permits)
  • Helps set up surveys and compile results after events.
Summer Internships
  • Helps Program Manager with data entry for summer internships database.
  • Follows up with summer interns on the status of their education and career.
  • Composes and sends emails on behalf of Program Manager for communication for summer internships.
  • Helps with application setup, downloading applications for each program, and contacting interns after selections have been made.
Wells Seminar Series
  • Contacts administrative assistants to get talk title, CV, brief bio and headshot for each external speaker.
  • Sends information to Communications Generalist once items are received for the flyers.
  • Helps with set up if available.

EDUCATION

Required
  • Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University
SKILLS

Required
  • Proficient communication skills

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
